: Hello, my name Derek. I am going to Nashville Labor Day Weekend 2001 and wanted some advice/suggestions on where to stay. That is, would you recommend staying in the Opryland area and taking in a show, or downtown near 2nd Street action????

: Thanks for your help

Hey Derek: Was looking on this site for an answer to a question I had and I saw your question. I know it's rather late but maybe my information will help you on your NEXT visit to Nashville. I used to live there and worked in the C&W field with an entertainer. It seems like most of the "action" is down close to the Music Row area. That is if you want the chance to really "happen" onto people you like as an artist. I personally would recommend the Shoney's Inn next door to the Shoney's Rest. there in the Music Row area. Also, the Clubhouse Inn downtown is a nice hotel. There is NO TELLING who you will see at the Shoney's Restaurant on Music Row, especially in the wee hours of the morning. That's when most artists like to record and naturally they get hungry and what better place to eat than Shoney's. Hope this info helps you on your next trip. If you are REALLY into spending a lot of money, try the Lowe's Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel on West End Ave. It's a gorgeous facility and has shuttles to and from Music Row at all hours. Take care, Donna
